Your toothbrush is something you may not think about changing so often, but dentists highly reccomend you change your toothbrush every three to four months to maintain good oral hygiene. By not changing it within that time frame, you are opening your mouth to bacteria and infections. Because of this, using the same toothbrush for more than three months might give you dental problems, halitosis, or bad breath.

Additionally, while there is nothing wrong with keeping your toothbrush in your bathroom, just think of all the bacteria and germs are in bathroom air. If your toothbrush doesn’t have a cover it is completely exposed to all of those disgusting germs. Keeping your toothbrush out in the open the moisture and steam that is in your bathroom will also encourage bacterial growth. So it’s vital to also keep your toothbrush covered and as dry as possible when not in use.
