Summer is getting closer to its end, and with that comes fall. While many enjoy the cooler temperatures and changes, there are a few things to keep in mind as a homeowner to ensure that your home is going to make it through fall and winter and stay in good repair. While the area where we live doesn’t get the extreme cold temperatures that other parts of the country have to deal with, there are times when it falls below freezing, and that can be tough dealing with, especially for new homeowners.
When it comes to leaves, many homeowners have the wrong focus. While it might look better to have a lawn that is completely clear of dead leaves, they actually serve a purpose in fertilizing the ground making your lawn grow better come next spring.
On the other hand, leaves in your gutters can prevent water flow and even cause issues if temperatures hit freezing. Cleaning your gutters in the fall can save you from a lot of problems later on.
