It may not surprise you that the material you choose for your bed can affect your sleep. Fabrics for sleepwear and bedding play a major role in the quality of our sleep at night. This is largely because our bodies ideally need to be cool enough to be able to fall asleep, but warm enough that we can feel comfortable while sleeping.

Cotton is a natural, soft fiber grown from the cotton plant and is an ideal fabric to use for your bedding. It is soft, lightweight, and breathable, which allows air circulation to your skin while also making it easier to wash. Linen is considered more of a luxury material for bedding, but if you live in a hot climate, linen is a great bedding fabric option. Silk is a very good for keeping you cool when it is warm and warm when it is cool, the only downside to silk is it’s cost because of how challenging it is to produce, but if you are comfortable with paying extra for that comfort then silk is the way to go.
