Snow and ice can very easily accumulate on your roof, but instead of actually going on your roof and cleaning it off by hand, having snow guards can be installed on your roof to break them up automatically. What are they?

Snow guards are protruding spikes that can be installed underneath your shingles, and prevent snow and ice from building up on your roof. Usually, these spikes are either made of metal or plastic, and are not installed when the roof is first installed. And they may not be as effective in very heavy snow, but they do well in the ice and light snow.

These snow guards should be placed in an area that covers not only your driveway, but your sidewalks, and any other place that someone may walk, because having the guards set in these certain places will prevent snow and ice from accumulating and then falling and causing injury to someone walking by.
