Do you know what you can and can’t flush down the toilet? It might seem like a self-evident answer, but unfortunately, there are thousands of calls to plumbers where a clog has been caused by something that shouldn’t be flushed down the toilet.

While you might have heard about certain things that shouldn’t be flushed down a toilet, it is actually much easier to make a list of things that should go down a toilet. If the item is not on the list, it risks causing a clog with the possibility of a costly call to a plumber.

So what should be on that list? Just two things – human waste and toilet paper.

But, you might say, these wipes are labeled as flushable, doesn’t that mean they are ok?

Sadly, no. Many items that are listed as flushable really aren’t. They won’t break up the way toilet paper does, and therefore can cause a clog.

To be on the safe side, stick with the short list, and you won’t have to worry about causing a clog that will cause you headaches.
